African Football Heroes

The World Cup in South Africa has come to an end. Although no African country has won the cup, the Africans are still proud of their football stars. Africa Interactive made a video in collaboration with her local reporters about four African football stars who played in the World Cup.

The local reporters of Africa Interactive went to the different hometowns of these football players and met their relatives and friends. They also visited the former schools and football fields where these guys went when they were little boys. In this video you’ll see what relatives and former teachers think about these football players and how proud they are of them.

The story of Mathew Amoah in Ghana is provided by Paul Sowah, the Algerian reporter Amokrane Mariche went to the hometown of Rafik Halliche, Gilbert Kedia went to the town in Cameroon where Eyong Enoh grew up and Selay Kouassi took care of Salomon Kalou’s life story in Ivory Coast.
